Rabbits were first introduced into Ireland by the Normans in the 12th century and, since then, are one of the commonest wild mammals to be encountered right across the country. Living in a complex warren of burrows, Rabbits are an important source of food for foxes and larger birds of prey. As such, they are a vital part of our biodiversity. This cute ‘bunny’ was chilling in our garden in Wicklow in May 2011.
