Blue Tit
€95.00
Blue Tit is a very common, resident bird found in gardens, woodlands and hedgerows throughout Ireland. Males and females are very similar, however the males show a brighter blue crown. Nesting naturally in holes in trees and walls, they are also well known for using nest boxes (where, if possible, should be facing north). Blue Tits time their nesting period to coincide with the emergence of caterpillars that feed on fresh Oak leaves and are also a very common visitor to garden bird feeders, especially in winter. This bird was photographed in our garden in Wicklow, (insert comma) on a rainy day in February 2012.
