Wood Warbler
€95.00
Wood Warblers are a very rare summer nesting species to Ireland. It seems that Ireland, being an island on the western fringes of Europe, is just outside of their main summer range. Nesting in mature Oak woodlands they can, however, be sometimes encountered on migration on headlands and islands as they move through Ireland heading north in spring and south in autumn. This can allow for interesting photographic opportunities as the birds feed in different habitats other than in the usual, dark woodlands. This beautiful Wood Warbler was feeding among rocks, close to a beach on Tory Island, Co. Donegal in May 2017.
